18 days before the tax deadline and you’re running late for your flight to a sunny, palm-treed destination, so you take your tax paperwork with you. While on the plane enjoying a cold beverage, you log into your client portal through a phone app, snap photos of your tax documents with your camera phone and in that instant, we have your information..Done!
Now it’s April 27th, and you won’t be home to sign your taxes. Your phone, (which is conveniently sitting beside your margarita), notifies you of an email. You sit down in your beach chair to look, and it’s us, wanting you to tap on the phone app to log in and sign your tax return. You have one question though, so you FaceTime us from the beach to discuss through a virtual meeting. All is good after that, so using your phone, you sign our forms right in your beach chair, pay the tax owing online and you are done!
Our virtual accounting practice uses Citrix ShareFile, a contracted third party cloud host to securely transfer data. It has a file sync and share system that allows us on our end to see exactly what you see instantly. Citrix Systems Inc. uses 256-bit encryption, the same level of security that online banking systems. They also have end-to-end encryption which means that your data is encrypted from the point of service (when you upload a document) to the final point of termination (when you download a document), with no intervening decryption. It is more secure than sending an email. They have a secondary offsite data backup center, and on our end, we work closely with Kelly, Andrew and their fabulous staff at The IT Company Ltd. to ensure daily hard backup of documents in your client portal.

You can upload saved documents from your computer or tablet into your client portal. It is a simple drag and drop procedure, or you can use the upload button from within the portal. Multiple large files can be uploaded at once.

You can use your client portal on a mobile device with a simple application you can download. Using a verification process for security, you can simply log into your client portal on your device and take photos of your documents “on-the-go” for immediate upload to your portal!
